Welcome to the official website of the Wye River Separation Creek Progress Association.
Our Purpose is simple: “To advance the welfare and protect the environment of Wye River and Separation Creek.”
Wye River / Separation Creek is a relaxed coastal village surrounded by the majestic Otway National Park. We feel privileged to live and holiday here. As individuals we naturally have differences, but we all share a love of living in harmony with nature.
We are formally constituted and registered as an incorporated association.
We publish two e-newsletters annually to keep the community informed about what is happening locally, given many members do not reside permanently. We also post regular email updates on items and events of specific interest, including monthly reports on Council issues affecting our community.
The association’s Committee meets regularly and we host a public forum in January that is open to the entire community, following our AGM. The Community Forum is very well attended by the community, major external stakeholders and our related service and community organisations.
It is an open discussion forum, involving frank exchanges and constructive engagement with Colac Otway Shire, VicRoads, Telstra, DELWP and other service agencies to our community.
We are polite, focussed, persistent…and effective!
We are actively engaging & pursuing the following issues in 2016:
- Recovery & reconstruction from the 2015 Christmas Day fires
- Funding & completion of the River Walk
- Parking in peak summer season
- Separation Creek bridge re-construction
- Closer ties with Kennett River community
